Beccles 0 - 8 Yarmouth 18/01

After a long Christmas break, Beccles were back on the pitch at the weekend to begin the second half of the season. We always expected Yarmouth to be tough competitors and we struggled against them the last time we met as well. The Beccles defence had a hard game but never gave up and did manage to stop quite a few advances and shots from Yarmouth. Pressure put onto the opposition also helped quite a few shots go wide. Goalie Lorraine saved numerous goals as well including some high shots and some requiring dives. The Yarmouth teamwork, quick passing and well taken strikes proved difficult to interfere with and they did manage to score 8 goals by the end of the game.

Beccles did have a few advances up the pitch, but Yarmouth were quick to turn the ball around again and no goals were avchieved by Beccles. It was a good effort from Beccles and a hard one for the first game back. It was good to have Ali back playing after being injured. Hopefully some better scores to follow as the season progresses.
